Looking at the overall statistics, consumer prices in Belarus changed very little over the last summer month. Compared to July, they decreased by 0.1%, writes Myfin.by.

However, for individual goods and services, the fluctuations were much more noticeable. Some items in August either lost or, conversely, added tens of percent to their price.
Prices for vegetables decreased most significantly in August. In fact, several items became cheaper by more than a quarter within the month.
Carrots became the record-holder. Their price decreased by 36.78%. Potatoes showed almost the same result — minus 36.72%.
Beetroots became cheaper by 31.97%, white cabbage — by 28.8%. Fresh tomatoes complete this top five with a figure of −22.66%.
In the opposite direction, avocados became noticeably more expensive than other items. In August, this exotic fruit immediately added 17.01% to its price.
Olives were not far behind. Their price increased by 13.41%.
Live cut flowers also entered the top three most expensive goods. Over the month, they became 4.98% more expensive.
As for services, air travel saw the largest price increase. Thus, in August, passenger air transport became 6.41% more expensive.
