Funds Raised for the Restoration of a Rare Musical Instrument from Loshytsa Estate
The Loshytsa Estate Museum will restore an F. Haenel & Sohn cabinet piano from the 19th century. Funds for its restoration were raised by Minsk philanthropists from the International Business Assembly (IBA), as reported by the "Minsk-Novosti" agency.
Members of the IBA Board of Trustees presented a certificate for the piano's restoration to the museum director Lidiya Markovich. The ceremony took place on the eve of Minsk City Day, an occasion to which the philanthropists dedicated their initiative.
According to Alexander Kapelev, Chairman of the IBA, the idea to support the museum arose during the "Cultural Evenings" that took place last summer at the Minsk Business Assembly. At these meetings, representatives of the business community discussed well-being, moral principles, and the motivation of modern philanthropists to support the development of Minsk and its historical and cultural heritage.
During the events, historical excursions with professional researchers and introductions to classical music were also organized. During one of these meetings, a proposal unexpectedly arose to help the museum and finance the restoration of one of the most valuable exhibits in its collection.
