Former Russian Ambassador Received a Plot for a Cottage in Drozdy. He Will Be Kochanova's Neighbor
Dmitry Mezentsev was granted a plot for a cottage on a nearly 50-year lease.
Ex-Ambassador of Russia to Belarus Dmitry Mezentsev received a plot in the Drozdy microdistrict in Minsk and is building a cottage there. The capital authorities formalized this decision with an order marked "For official use," writes "Zerkalo".
According to the decision of the Minsk authorities, Dmitry Mezentsev was allocated land in Drozdy for almost a 50-year lease. The Russian official received 0.15 hectares of land. This is 1500 m², which can be imagined as a plot measuring 30 by 50 meters. A cottage with an area of up to 250 square meters can easily fit on such a territory.
Initially, the authorities ruled that the new owner would pay just over a thousand rubles per year for the land lease. However, in 2026, new regulations were introduced in Minsk regarding this fee — accordingly, the conditions could have changed for Mezentsev as well.
The Russian's neighbor became Stanislav Zas, who was the State Secretary of the Security Council from 2015 to 2020, and then the Secretary General of the CSTO until 2023. Also nearby is a cottage that Natalya Kochanova, the chairperson of the Council of the Republic, transferred to her daughters in 2020.
Mezentsev served as the Ambassador of Russia to Belarus from 2019 to 2021. He is now the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation.
