Police Colonel Maksim Subota was relieved of his post as head of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. The corresponding decree was signed by Alexander Lukashenka on September 14.

Subota was also dismissed from service in the internal affairs bodies due to age. He is, however, allowed to wear the established uniform and insignia.
Maksim Subota was appointed to this position less than a year and a half ago, in April 2025. Before that, he spent his entire career in the Brest region — first in Kobryn, and then in the regional center. In March 2020, he took the post of deputy head of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, from where he was promoted to Vitebsk five years later.
