Famous Belarusian ska-punk band Lyapis Trubetskoi had to postpone its concerts in Russian towns of Kaluga and Tula as the band musicians were “on drinking bout.” The notice appeared on bands official website.
“We, the members of band Lyapis Trubetskoy met the launch of Rabkor Live tour going on mass drinking bout,” the notice reads.
“In Veliky Novgorod the drinking bout reached its peak — all musicians appeared on the stage drunk.”
“The absurdity of the situation is that Rabkor Live tour can be performed neither in alcohol, nor in some other delirium,” the notice reads.
However, soon after the notice started being spread on the Internet, it was taken away from band’s website.
As Lyapis Trubetskoy press-secretary told Nasha Niva, the band do not refuse their statement.
“It is true. We placed the ‘notice’ on the website as we postponed two concerts. We described the current state of things. But now we removed it in order not to be an eyesore, not to cause excessive discussion and confuse the visitors.”

Lyapis Trubetskoy is a famous Belarusian band currently playing “revolutionary” and socially laden ska-punk. The band is unofficially blacklisted in Belarus and banned to perform for the criticism of peaceful rally dispersal on December 9, 2010 and also band’s leading singer Siarhiej Mikhalok sharp criticism of Aliaksandr Lukashenka.
Lyapis Trubetskoy is currently stays in Moscow, Russia.
