Eight people have received life sentences for the bombing of the Crimean Bridge. Everyone says they are not involved.
The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don has delivered verdicts to the eight defendants in the case of the Crimean Bridge explosion in October 2022. According to Mediazona, all eight defendants were sentenced to life imprisonment—exactly the punishment requested by the prosecution. All of the defendants pleaded not guilty.

The convicts — among whom are six entrepreneurs, a farmer, and a long-distance truck driver — were charged with articles on terrorism and transportation of explosives, and two defendants were also charged with smuggling explosives.
The case was considered behind closed doors.
According to the investigation, the defendants helped Ukrainian special services organize the bombing of a truck with explosives on the Crimean Bridge, which resulted in the death of five people.
All defendants pleaded not guilty. They insisted that they were doing their usual work and did not know about the explosives hidden in the truck.
The head of the SBU, Vasyl Malyuk, previously said that Ukrainian security forces used people blindly.
However, the prosecutor insisted on a criminal conspiracy: "All the defendants were in cahoots and perfectly understood and were aware of what they were doing and why."
