A Russian cosmonaut was removed from Crew 12 after photographing SpaceX documents and leaking classified information.

Russian cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev has been removed from the Crew 12 crew a few months before the launch to the ISS. According to rocket launch analyst Georgy Tryshkin in his Telegram channel, Andrey Fedyaev will fly instead, The Insider writes.

Trishkin's sources said that Artemyev was excluded for violating export control regulations ITAR: the cosmonaut allegedly photographed SpaceX documentation, and then "took secret information out with him on his phone."

In a conversation with The Insider, an expert said that an interdepartmental investigation has been launched:

"My contacts confirm that the violation did occur and an interdepartmental investigation has been launched. Removing him from the flight two and a half months before the mission without a clear explanation of the reasons is more of an indirect sign, but indicative. It is very difficult to imagine a situation in which an experienced cosmonaut could unintentionally commit such a gross violation."

Trishkin also said that NASA does not want the scandal surrounding Artemyev to become known.

The Telegram channel about cosmonautics "Yura, forgive us!" writes that Artemyev, who was training at the SpaceX base in Hawthorne, California, was suspended last week.

The cosmonaut allegedly photographed SpaceX engines and other internal SpaceX materials on his phone, and then took the materials out of the base.

According to the website of the Yu. A. Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center, 54-year-old Oleg Artemyev has made three spaceflights and spent a total of 560 days there. Since 2019, he has been a deputy of the Moscow City Duma, a member of "United Russia."

Ну зачем? Зачем ему этот четвертый полет в космос нужен? Что он там ещё не видел? Пусть учится на бариста.
