A guy bought a New Year's tree at his own expense and put it in the center of the village
In the village of Zarechcha near Smolevichi, local resident Anton Ignatovich decided to organize a holiday for everyone. For this, he bought a large Christmas tree from the forestry and arranged for its installation near the local shop. Together with his loved ones, he decorated it with toys and garlands.

— I wanted to create a holiday. Adults go to the shop, children — to kindergarten, they look — and here's a Christmas tree. And it's pleasant for us to approach it on New Year's Eve. We decided to put it up every year now. The main thing is to buy more toys, — the interlocutor told the publication smolevichi-24.by.
Village residents were surprised and delighted by the initiative. Many thought that installing a Christmas tree was the responsibility of the housing and communal services, and were surprised to learn that it was the work of a villager.

Local resident Katsiaryna Rakhmańko shared her impressions:
— It's very nice that the Christmas tree is back. In my childhood, we also used to put them up, but then the tradition disappeared. And now there's a holiday again — and the tree is beautiful, fluffy, with toys and garlands. The mood immediately improved. Mostly all festive events take place in Aktyabrski, but now we also have an atmosphere of magic here.
— We decorated it with a garland last Sunday. When the lights on the Christmas tree come on, it truly feels festive. Even without snow, you can feel the New Year, — says another local resident, Natallia Izuit. — Maybe someone will come here by car on the night of December 31st to January 1st, turn on some music, and then people, I think, will gather around the tree.

As the chairwoman of the Plisa Rural Executive Committee, Natallia Sakovich, said, the installation of a live Christmas tree in the center of Zarechcha became a real gift for the residents:
— This wonderful initiative was able to give a holiday to 1263 residents of the village — that's how many people were registered here at the beginning of the year. I would like to thank Anton Aliaksandravich for this wonderful idea, as well as the company "Lantoria", which provided an access point to electricity so that the garland could light up, and the housing and communal services — they fenced off the tree for safety purposes.
