Belarusian Foreign Ministry condemned "armed aggression" against Venezuela, but, unlike Lukashenka, did not name the aggressor
The embassy in Caracas is operating normally. Diplomats are monitoring the situation with Belarusian citizens.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus categorically condemns the armed aggression committed on January 3, 2026, against the sovereign state of Venezuela, and considers it a direct threat to international peace and security.
The Belarusian side declares its unwavering support for the legitimate government of Venezuela and joins the call for an urgent convocation of the UN Security Council, which bears primary responsibility for maintaining peace.
The diplomatic mission of Belarus in Caracas is operating normally, its personnel are safe. Work is underway to monitor the situation with Belarusian citizens. No information about extreme incidents involving them has been received.
The Republic of Belarus emphasizes: the right of the Venezuelan people to independently determine their fate is inviolable. No forms of external interference, especially forceful, can be justified," the Belarusian Foreign Ministry stated.
