At the 1998 Olympic Games in Nagano, Belarus had two representatives in Nordic combined (ski jumping + cross-country skiing). Sergei Zakharanka and 22-year-old Konstantin Kalinovsky, "Tribuna" noted.
At the Games, 22-year-old Kalinovsky finished 42nd, directly ahead of Zakharanka.

Later, Kalinovsky worked as a snow groomer driver, preparing tracks for skiers even at the level of the Belarus Cup. It is also known that at the end of the last century, the athlete married skier Natalia Sviridova, who changed her surname and gave birth to a daughter a year later.
