On January 8, Anton Yatusevich, Head of the Department of Parasitology and Invasive Animal Diseases at the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine, suddenly passed away . He was 79 years old, and for almost 19 of those years, he served as the rector of this educational institution.

Anton Yatusevich was born on January 2, 1947, in the village of Asabovichy, Pinsk district.
From 1973, he worked as an assistant at the Department of Parasitology at the Vitebsk Veterinary Institute, then as an associate professor and vice-rector for academic affairs. From 1990, he headed the Department of Parasitology and Invasive Animal Diseases. In 1990, he defended his doctoral dissertation, and in 1991, he was awarded the academic title of professor.
From January 1998 to December 2016, Anton Yatusevich served as the rector of the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine.
His scientific interests were related to the study of parasitic animal diseases and the development of control methods. He authored and co-authored over 1000 scientific works, 45 copyright certificates and patents, and 65 textbooks, reference books, and monographs. Under his supervision, approximately 30 candidate and doctoral dissertations were prepared.
Yatusevich was awarded numerous orders, medals, and honorary badges. He was an Honored Scientist of the Republic of Belarus, an honorary professor of four foreign universities, and an honorary citizen of Pinsk district, as well as a foreign member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
