Viktor Retsky was part of a criminal organization since 1994. He hid using forged documents in Russia and Kazakhstan, from where he was extradited to our country in March 2025 and taken into custody. The accused is involved in at least two high-profile crimes committed in the 1990s, writes "Gomelskaya Pravda".
Viktor Retsky was charged with the premeditated murder with extreme cruelty of two or more persons, committed by a particularly dangerous recidivist with the aim of concealing or facilitating another crime.
For a number of other crimes committed by the accused, the statutes of limitations have expired, as a result of which criminal prosecution for certain episodes has been ceased. These include participation in a bandit formation and a criminal organization, illegal acts involving firearms, and robberies.
The Gomel Regional Court found Retsky guilty and sentenced him to 15 years of imprisonment, with the first five years to be served in prison and the remaining part of the term in a reinforced-regime correctional colony. It was also decided to recover 40,000 rubles from him in favor of the injured party.
The verdict has not entered into legal force and can be appealed and protested.
