Hosting a traditional reception in Minsk on the occasion of the Old New Year, Alyaksandr Lukashenka complained in his speech that the modern world faces serious challenges, and events in it unfold too unexpectedly and unpredictably.

Lukashenka emphasized that the planet is currently in a state of instability, and leaders of some states sometimes do not even understand the consequences of their actions. Therefore, even he, despite being fully informed, cannot predict which way everything will develop further.
"Therefore, I tell you honestly: possessing a mass of information, I do not know which way this crazy, mad world will turn. I say "mad world" — I cannot say that we have gone crazy and lost our minds. That is, we, the heads of state, who sometimes do not know what they are doing," Lukashenka stated.
