More than 2000 rescuers from 27 countries arrived in Venezuela to search for people under the rubble after two devastating earthquakes that occurred on June 25. Despite Alexander Lukashenka's close friendship with former Venezuelan leaders, he limited himself to sending condolences.

A large-scale humanitarian operation is taking place with the support and coordination of the United Nations.
A total of 2245 specialists and 140 search dogs are involved; their task is to search for and rescue people from under the rubble of buildings, and to provide first medical aid.
27 countries sent their military and civilian specialists — aid was sent by Germany, Czech Republic, Spain, USA, France, Italy, Great Britain, Turkey, countries of Latin America and the Middle East.
Also among them is Lithuania, which sent two teams to Venezuela: rescuers (20 firefighters, 2 cynologists and 2 medics), as well as a medical team of 15 doctors and 5 logisticians who support the work of the medics. Along with them, 6 tons of search equipment and 20 tons of humanitarian and medical cargo were delivered.
Alexander Lukashenka sent "the most sincere words of support to all residents of Venezuela, especially the victims of the merciless natural disaster, those who lost loved ones, who were left homeless."
