On the Border, You Can Again Book a Spot in the Electronic Queue. It's Become Much More Convenient, But the Price of VIP Booking is Shocking

As of January 1, 2026, the rules for the electronic queue at the border have been updated. Reserving a spot has become more convenient, and a VIP service has been introduced for those in a hurry with money.

According to the new rules, cars and motorcycles can join the electronic queue online. This means that now, to reserve a spot in the queue, it's not necessary to go directly to the waiting area before the checkpoint.

The cost of online registration is 0.5 basic units (22.5 rubles). Previously it was 0.3 basic units.

However, before entering the checkpoint, you still need to pass through the waiting area.

If a car does not arrive on time, the registration will be canceled without the right to renewal. In this case, the service will be considered rendered, and, accordingly, the money will not be refunded. To travel abroad, those who are late will need to re-register in the electronic queue and pay for the service.

Additionally, for cars traveling on a private trip, it is now possible to book an arrival date in advance. However, the cost of the service is very high — 15.5 basic units, which is 697.5 rubles (about 200 euros).

It is worth noting that until the end of summer 2022, Belarus already practiced selling queue spot reservations at checkpoints where an electronic queue existed. At that time, such a service cost only one basic unit and was available not only for private cars but also for cargo and passenger transport engaged in international transportation.

However, while previously a reservation for one basic unit was for a specific time, now, by paying 697.5 rubles, you can arrive at any time of the chosen day within the interval from 00:00 to 23:59.

It seems that when determining prices for VIP reservations, "Belmytscervis" focused on the amounts demanded for queue-free passage by beneficiaries who were picked up in cars. However, 200 euros were charged only on peak days when waiting times took 4-5 days.

Recall that due to the increase in the basic unit, the fee for leaving the country now costs 45 rubles instead of the previous 43 rubles. Therefore, to leave Belarus for the EU by car without benefits, one must pay 67.5 rubles (1.5 basic units), which is about 20 euros.
