Waterproofing and soundproofing in an apartment can now be done without a project
Certain types of renovation and replanning works can now be carried out without developing a project, write Minsk-News.
Waterproofing, vapor barrier, and soundproofing works in apartments can now be carried out without developing project documentation (it was previously required), said Alexey Skaldin, head of the legal department of Housing and Utilities Service No. 3 of Pervomaisky District.
Waterproofing is usually done on the floor in the kitchen, in the bathroom during the replacement of floor coverings (tiles), and also when expanding its area — on the "occupied" section.
Vapor barrier — this is when a special film is glued onto insulation so that it does not absorb moisture.
Soundproofing — cladding of walls and ceilings with appropriate materials, specifically foam plastic or mineral wool.
For these types of works, as well as for others related to replanning and renovation, it is necessary to obtain approval from the district administration.
At the same time, the need to conclude construction contracts has been eliminated. Now, reconstruction and replanning can be carried out by the homeowner themselves or by involving individuals whose main activity is construction.
