Kyiv offered to hand over Belarusian Kardash, detained for espionage, not only to Minsk
Kyiv offered to exchange Belarusian citizen Inna Kardash, detained this January on suspicion of espionage for the State Security Committee of Belarus, not only with Belarus but also with Russia, writes "Svaboda".

Bohdan Akhrymenka, head of the secretariat of the Coordination Headquarters, emphasized in response to a "Svaboda" inquiry that the Ukrainian state is open to discussing any means of returning Ukrainian citizens deprived of liberty. This includes being ready to hand over to Russia and Belarus their citizens who are accused of espionage in Ukraine or who are already serving sentences under relevant articles of the country's Criminal Code.
"Both the Russian authorities and the Belarusian authorities have been informed about Ukraine's possibility and readiness for such a process. But neither the former nor the latter are in a hurry to take back their exposed agents, as evidenced by the statistics of the state project 'I Want to Be With My Own'," noted the head of the secretariat of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
Bohdan Akhrymenka clarified that the "I Want to Be With My Own" project list includes more than 400 names of collaborators and spies. Most of them have been waiting for such an exchange for 6-8 months, and in some cases, almost two years.
At the same time, the representative of the Coordination Headquarters did not answer the question about the total number of Ukrainian citizens held in Belarusian prisons, some of whom were transferred to Kyiv along with prisoners of war or Belarusian political prisoners.
"For the security of all participants in the process, we do not comment on this issue, as it could harm the organization of future similar measures," Bohdan Akhrymenka emphasized.
Inna Kardash was detained on January 21 this year and charged with suspicion of espionage for the State Security Committee of Belarus.
At the time of her detention, Inna Kardash was already working in the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, she contacted the KGB through a Belarusian citizen who, "to her knowledge, was confidentially cooperating with the Belarusian special services."
The pre-trial investigation into her case has concluded. After the judicial review of the indictment for its compliance with Ukrainian legislation, the court is expected to begin hearing the case on its merits. Currently, Inna Kardash is in the Kyiv pre-trial detention center.
