"What are you coming for, wolf?" by Yeva Vezhnavets published in Lithuanian
Yeva Vezhnavets' novella "What are you coming for, wolf?" has been released in Lithuanian, translated by Jurgita Jasponite.
In 2024, an excerpt from the novella was published in the Lithuanian literary magazine "Metai". Now, Lithuanian readers can read the full book by the Belarusian writer, winner of the Giedroyc Prize, reports "Budzma".
Here's what translator, poet, and literary critic Marius Burokas writes in the blurb for the Lithuanian edition: "How to fit a hundred years of history, nine social systems, spirits of forests and swamps, witchcraft, generational change, and conflicts, reconciliation with oneself, into a little over a hundred pages? The author blends dizzying black humor and magical realism, dialects and new language, history and mythology, and presents it to us. An incredibly capacious, captivating book."

In addition to Lithuanian, the novella "What are you coming for, wolf?" has already been translated into German, Czech, Norwegian, and Polish.
