Man who shot GRU deputy head in Moscow posed as food delivery person
"Kommersant" learned details about the assassination attempt on Vladimir Alekseev, the deputy head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

A source in law enforcement agencies reported that around seven in the morning, Lieutenant General, as usual, left his apartment in a building on Volokolamskoye Highway to go to work. A service car with a driver was waiting for him downstairs.
On the landing, Mr. Alekseev encountered a man who, according to preliminary data, entered the building by posing as a food delivery person.
The assailant wounded the general in the arm and leg, and when he tried to snatch the pistol from him, also in the chest. The military man's active resistance prevented the attacker from finishing him off, the source notes.
The general is in intensive care in serious condition, as one of the bullets hit vital organs.
According to preliminary data, law enforcement officers have characteristics of the assailant, his photo and video, so there are good chances to apprehend him quickly.
