Kim Jong Un Re-elected as General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea
«The noble world of comrade Kim Jong Un's selfless service to the people captivates everyone and even more brightly glorifies our Motherland as a true people's country,» the party resolution states.

Kim Jong Un has been re-elected as General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea.
«Under the skillful and proven leadership of the ever-victorious Workers' Party of Korea, our revolutionary cause of all-round socialist construction is vigorously advancing today, creating unprecedented miracles at an extraordinary pace,» it is stated in the party resolution.
«At the congress, which takes place during years of inspiring struggle, when unprecedented, grand epoch-making changes are taking place in the history of the Republic's development, bravely overcoming all historical challenges and difficulties, all our party members and the people will adopt the most important resolution on the election of the WPK leader — the center of leadership and unity, embodying the organizational will of the entire party.
The election of the WPK leader, who holds a responsible position for leading the cause of socialism to victory at the head of the state and the people, is the most important matter on which the party's governing power and the future of the Motherland and the people depend, and it holds the greatest significance in the work of the party congress — the party's supreme governing body. (…) The noble world of comrade Kim Jong Un's selfless service to the people captivates everyone and even more brightly glorifies our Motherland as a true people's country,» the party resolution states.
Kim Jong Un holds several positions in the DPRK; in December 2011, he assumed the post of supreme leader of the DPRK and supreme commander; since 2016, he has been chairman of the State Affairs Commission, and in that year, he headed the Workers' Party of Korea, while the post of general secretary was introduced in 2021.
The Kim family has ruled the country for 75 years, since 1950. Kim Il Sung ruled the DPRK from 1950 to 1994, his son Kim Jong Il from 1994 to 2011, and Kim Jong Un since 2011.
Kim Jong Un is 44 years old, but recently it has often been reported that he is preparing his daughter, Kim Ju Ae, who is currently 13 years old, as his successor.
Since November 2022, Kim Ju Ae has started appearing in public, often accompanying her father at events and being mentioned in North Korean media.
