Minsk Prepares New Recreation Areas: What Will Appear in Each District of the Capital

What new locations will be equipped this year, "Minsk-News" writes.

Zavodski District

Here, they plan to equip a location in the area of Vaneyeva and Kashavoha streets. The concept envisages the creation of pedestrian paths, sports grounds, and the installation of small architectural forms.

It is also planned to extend the "Zhava" recreation area on the shore of Chyzhoŭskaye Reservoir towards the church. Here, they want to equip a children's playground, install decorative figures of birds, amphibians, and fish, as well as wooden sculptures of animals and small architectural forms.

Leninski District

New recreation areas will be installed in Loshytsa. The first one will be located within Chyzheŭskikh and Ihumenski Trakt streets. Landscapers propose to name it "Everything Starts with Love".

The initiative to improve this location came from local residents. Pedestrian paths have already been laid. Main art objects in the form of a volumetric forged heart and a "love bench" have been installed, and in the promenade area — benches with urns and a hexagonal support with five hanging swings.

The second recreation area is planned in the area of V. Turava Street, next to the developing microdistricts Loshytsa-5 and Loshytsa-10. It has been named "Favorite Fairy Tales" and will be located opposite the 18th city children's polyclinic. It will be equipped considering the interests and needs of children, in particular, sculptures of fairy tale characters made of wood, metal, and stone will be installed.

Maskoŭski District

This year, they plan to start the 2nd stage of construction of the "Garden of Poems" in the area of L. Sapehi Street. It will be supplemented with a part dedicated to poetry and will increase the number of play areas for children. Also, a children's playground with inclusive equipment, a picnic area, and a bird-watching location will appear.

Another playground will be located in the southwestern part of the district. This will be the "Garden of Photographs" with small architectural forms, a cycling path and bike parking, and photo zones.

In the future, the green zone in the area of Ya. Bryla and Astrozskikh, Rafiyeva and Hromava streets, as well as Dzyarzhynski Avenue and A. Hedroytza Street, will be improved in Maskoŭski.

Kastrychnitski District

An interesting recreation area will appear near house № 3a on Aeradromnaya Street. According to the city's general plan, nothing is planned to be built here, and no communications pass underground. The total area of the plot is about 0.4 ha. Paths will be made here with the installation of urns and benches, and new workout and children's playgrounds will be equipped. Flowers and young trees will be planted.

The main feature will be an installation of a real Soviet multi-purpose Mi-2 helicopter, whose production ended in the 1990s, as well as other equipment.

In addition, a new location is planned to be equipped along the coastline of Loshytsa Reservoir — from Brestskaya Street in the direction of Kazintsa Street.

Partyzhanski District

The improvement of the territory along the Sliepianskaya water system in the area of City Clinical Hospital No. 6 and Polyclinic No. 14 will continue. The "Park of Medicine" will be located there.

In the future, it is planned to equip a location for family recreation in the area of Stalietava Street.

Pervamayski District

Here, a Youth Square and an eco-trail "Liasnaya" (Forest) will appear. The latter is planned to be equipped in the "Zialiony Luh" (Green Meadow) forest park. Information stands will be installed, a route for Nordic walking will be organized, and a bird feeder will be set up.

In addition, a workout area, a sports town, and an outdoor fitness area are provided. This is due to the fact that several educational institutions are located near the eco-trail.

Savietski District

One of the recreation areas will be dedicated to family values. In particular, it is planned to equip a place where young people can propose marriage. In addition, the theme of large families will be one of the leitmotifs. The initial name is "Path to Happiness".

Another location is planned to be equipped in a small square on Kuibysheva Street — sports and children's playgrounds, as well as a bird feeder.

Frunzienski District

Two recreation areas will appear here. The first will open in the area of the intersection of M. Lynkova and P. Hlebki streets. The second — in the square on Bryketa Street, where a pond has become a point of attraction for city residents.

The nearby territory has recently been actively built up with multi-story buildings. In addition, in the future, it is planned to create a "Garden of Musical Instruments" in Frunzienski.

Tsentralny District

New locations will be located in the northwestern part near the Svislach River. They will be presented in the format of eco-trails. One of them is planned to be equipped in the area of Naradnay Adzinstva Park. The second — in the area of the Minsk Ring Road and Drazdy Reservoir, near the park hotel.

The eco-trail "Portal to the World of the Swamp" will stretch for 500 m. It will be located in a swampy lowland, mainly covered with deciduous forest. Here, the flora and fauna are diverse. Beavers periodically settle in this territory, numerous rodents, hedgehogs, and hares are found everywhere. Among amphibians and reptiles — common grass snakes, lizards, frogs, and grey toads. More than fifty species of birds, many of which nest, can be regularly encountered.
