Trump deleted an image depicting him as Jesus Christ after criticism
US President Donald Trump deleted a post from his social network Truth Social featuring an AI-generated image that depicted him in a Christ-like figure, writes The Guardian.

In the image, Trump was seemingly performing a miracle: light emanated from his hands, with which he was "healing" a person in a hospital bed, while a demonic image was shown in the background. This publication provoked a strong reaction from some of his conservative and Christian supporters, who considered it offensive and unacceptable.
Some prominent conservative commentators and media personalities publicly criticized the post, calling it "blasphemous" and "unacceptable." They demanded its immediate removal and even asked Trump to apologize to people and to God.
According to the report, the image Trump used was not original: a similar AI illustration had previously appeared online but was modified before being published on the US president's account.
This situation arose against the backdrop of escalating tensions between Trump and Pope Leo XIV, who had previously criticized the idea of "omnipotence" in US politics and commented on military conflicts. Trump, in response, sharply spoke out against the Pope, calling him "weak" and accusing him of political bias.
The scandal erupted shortly after Easter, which further intensified the reaction of believers. On social media, some users expressed strong indignation and discussed the ethics of such images and their impact on society.
