Babaryka: I am not needed by Tsikhanouskaya and the democratic movement in any capacity
Former political prisoner Viktar Babaryka stated that he does not see himself in the current system of Belarusian democratic forces. He said this in an interview with "Radio Svaboda" during the "New Belarus" conference in Warsaw.
Answering the question of why he is not rushing to join the activities of democratic forces as a public and political leader, Babaryka said that for half a year he analyzed the events of the last six years and tried to understand "how much I might be needed by political leaders, movements that exist."
"My definition of a political activist or leader, or even just a politician, is very, very complex, because I once gave my understanding of who a politician is. And if in 2020 I definitely was one, now it's very difficult to say if I am a politician."
"I spent half a year or a little more analyzing what, in fact, happened over all these 6 years, and how much, it seems to me, I might be needed by political leaders, movements that exist. And, just like in 2020, I realized that I am not needed by anyone," Babaryka said.
He added that even in 2020, he "was not needed by any of the active parties and leaders that existed at that moment."
"The same story is observed now. That is, I am not needed by the current players in any capacity," he noted.
When asked if he had offered cooperation to representatives of democratic forces, Babaryka replied in the negative.
"I never offer anything to anyone. If someone needs me, they usually come and say: 'Listen, let's work together'," he said.

Вот скажите, какие консультации может оказывать Бабарико, находясь на свободе день без году для беларусов в иммиграции, которые заграницей уже по несколько лет, а кто-то и 5 и 7 и более. Что он им может рассказать про жизнь в Польше или Германии - быть, легализации, налоги / финансы и т.п.? Они ему скорее расскажут больше про эти темы, опираясь на личный опыт и пройденный путь. Ну, смешно, правда с его этим проектом и идеями. В лучшем случае Бабарико будет консультировать провластных беларусов, в т.ч. бизнесменов в Беларуси и россиян, как гонять санкционку через различные оффшорки, схематозы там всякие банковские / налоговые / финансовые и т.п. Тут - да, возможно он себя сможет показать какая великий специалист в этих вопросах. Но, его эти специфические знания, точно не для широкого круга беларусов в иммиграции.
