Law on fines for propaganda of homosexual relations and childfree to come into force in June
For individuals, a fine up to 900 rubles, for legal entities — up to 6750 rubles.
Amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses have been published on the National Legal Internet Portal.
The main provisions of the law will come into force two months after publication (in mid-June).
It provides for the addition of a number of new articles to the Code of Administrative Offenses. In particular, Article 19.16 "Propaganda of homosexual relations, gender change, childlessness, pedophilia" appears in the law.
"Dissemination in any form of information with the aim of forming among citizens ideas about the attractiveness of homosexual relations, gender change, childlessness, or about recognizing pedophilia as permissible — entails the imposition of a fine up to 20 base values (today — 900 rubles — NN), on an individual entrepreneur — up to 100 base values (4500 rubles), and on a legal entity — from 100 to 150 base values" (4500—6750 rubles), — the article states.
If the aforementioned actions led to a minor becoming familiar with such information, the fine will be from 20 to 35 base values (900—1575 rubles), and the offender may also be assigned community service or administrative arrest; for individual entrepreneurs, the fine will increase to 100—150 base values, and for a legal entity — to 150—200 base values.
