Bishop Aleksandr Yasheuski announced on his page the solemn placement of the icon of Saint Nicholas and his relics in the Mogilev Cathedral. No details were provided in the announcement, but the publication Katolik.life noted that the icon, which will appear in the Mogilev church, is from the same series of 12 precious 'sister icons' by Nikolai Kuzmich, about which it was reported earlier.

This very icon of Saint Nicholas was consecrated by Cardinal Claudio Gugerotti during his visit to Pinsk. The icons are made by the renowned master jeweler Nikolai Kuzmich, Honored Art Worker of Belarus, who recreated the famous Cross of Euphrosyne of Polotsk, together with his son.

The process of creating each icon takes an average of 6-8 months. They are made using cloisonné enamel technique, including ancient Byzantine enamel technique, as the master himself showed. The main materials for the icons are gold, silver, precious and semi-precious stones.

Given the cost of such an icon, it would hardly have been able to appear in a poor parish without the help of patrons. Previously, icons from the same series were transferred to small churches in Ruzhany, Pruzhany, and other locations.

Regarding the origin of the relics of Saint Nicholas, which will appear in Mogilev, it is reported that they were delivered from the city of Bari in Italy, where the saint's relics are preserved. Believers hope that the authenticity of the relics is confirmed by documents and that the necessary verification has been carried out by specialists in this field to avoid possible falsifications — taking into account the previous activities of some patrons.
