Associate Professor of Vitebsk Medical University jailed for insulting Lukashenka

51-year-old Dzianis Holubieu is a candidate of veterinary sciences.

Dzianis Holubieu

The Vitebsk Regional Court sentenced 51-year-old Dzianis Holubieu, an associate professor at Vitebsk State Medical University. He was accused of "insulting Lukashenka" (Part 1, Art. 368) and "aiding extremist activities" (Parts 1 and 2, Art. 361-4 of the Criminal Code). The lecturer was sentenced to "chemistry with referral" (restricted freedom) or a penal colony.

Dzianis Holubieu is a native of Vitebsk. He graduated from Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine. Since 2002, he worked at Vitebsk State Medical University. Initially, he was at the Department of Pathological Anatomy and Histology, then at the Department of Organic Chemistry, and later returned to his previous department.

In 2003, Holubieu became a candidate of veterinary sciences.

His scientific interests include studying the structural features of immune system organs and morphological changes in them under the influence of veterinary drugs.
