The bookstore will sell not only books from Kamunikat.org publishing house (there are currently about 70 of them). At the moment, more than 500 titles from 14 Belarusian publishing houses are presented.

Meetings with Belarusian authors are also planned, — said Yaroslav Ivanyuk, co-founder of the bookstore (and initiator of the kamunikat.org foundation), at its grand opening. According to him, meetings with writers, presentations of new books, as well as editions that were once overlooked, will regularly take place here.
A distinctive feature of the bookstore is that it will widely present books published by the Belarusian national minority. Ilona Karpyuk, a board member of the Kamunikat Foundation and representative of the Belarusian Culture Center in Białystok, spoke about the importance of uniting the efforts of both the national minority in Białystok region and Belarusian emigrants.
Therefore, among the 14 publishing houses in the bookstore are represented the Belarusian Culture Center, the Program Council of the weekly "Niva", and the "Museum of Small Homeland" in Studziwody. These books are often dedicated to life in the Belarusian-Polish borderland; among them are Polish-language editions that will be available on the shelves.

Pavel Latushka, Deputy Head of the United Transitional Cabinet, emphasized the importance of the Belarusian minority and Belarusian diaspora jointly implementing this cultural project.

Waldemar Michalski, director of the historical book fair and representative of the Fundacja Historia i Kultura, announced upcoming publishing news: another salon of independent Belarusian publishers "Volnaya Belarus" (Free Belarus) will open at the International Book Fair in Warsaw, which will take place at the National Stadium from May 28 to 31. On May 29, at 2 PM, a guest is expected there — Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ales Bialiatski.

Uladzimir Arlou presented the sixth edition of "Imionau Svabody" (Names of Freedom) at the bookstore's opening, which was published thanks to "Kamunikat". The book contains 410 historical portraits of those who, since the times of Tadevuš Rejtan and Tadevuš Kaściuška, fought for the freedom and independence of the Belarusian land.
The book is beautifully designed; its new format has led to two heroes or heroines meeting on the spreads and entering into a dialogue. "This gives the book new meanings and a new quality," explained Uladzimir Arlou. "Emilia Plater revisits and conducts a silent dialogue with another hero of the 1830-31 uprising, Michał Vałovič. The rebels of 1863, the fathers of the BNR, Uladzimir Karatkievič and Larysa Hienijuš, meet."

The second part of the publication is being prepared and will see the light this year.
"Those who yearn for freedom and fight for it often do not live to a respectable age, often await freedom in less than comfortable premises, which is why there are many tragic fates here. But if you read it, you will be convinced that this book is very optimistic, because it testifies that there have always been many who yearned and fought for freedom," summarized Uladzimir Arlou.
