This year less cabbage and potatoes will be stocked, but more — beets and carrots
The government has determined the planned volumes for harvesting fruits and vegetables into stabilization funds for the off-season of 2026/2027. These funds are used by the state to regulate prices and ensure stores are supplied with products during periods when their own stocks have run out or the new harvest has not yet started to arrive in sufficient quantities.

According to government resolution No. 210, published on the National Legal Internet Portal, the total volume of procurement will be about 147.16 thousand tons. This is approximately 5.6% less than was planned for the previous off-season period, when, as a result of adjustments, the volumes reached over 157 thousand tons.
Separately, about 111.57 thousand tons of products are planned to be supplied to retail chains. This is also less than a year earlier – by approximately 9 thousand tons.
The largest reduction affected cabbage, as well as apples and potatoes, which are traditionally staple products in stabilization funds.
The structure of procurements is as follows:
- potatoes – about 59.7 thousand tons (decrease compared to last year);
- white cabbage – about 22.3 thousand tons (one of the most significant reductions, over 15%);
- table beets – about 9.7 thousand tons (one of two positions where growth is planned);
- carrots – about 15.4 thousand tons (also a slight increase);
- onions – about 15 thousand tons (slightly less than before);
- fresh apples – about 25 thousand tons (decrease by several percent).
The government emphasizes that these figures are not final. The practice of previous years shows that volumes are often revised after the harvest. If the harvest turns out to be more or less than planned, these planned indicators can either increase or decrease.
The Ministry of Agriculture has already set maximum selling prices for new harvest products, which will be valid during the off-season period of 2026/2027. According to preliminary data, these prices will be higher than the current season's level, which is explained by the overall increase in production and storage costs.
