In Poland, a scheme for exporting sanctioned goods to Belarus was uncovered. A customs officer was detained
The Polish Prosecutor's Office uncovered the activities of an organized criminal group that illegally exported sanctioned goods to Belarus. According to data from the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Lublin, the group operated from June 2025 to April 2026 at the border crossings Kukuryki, Koroszczyn, and Terespol.

The scheme was as follows: participants transported goods prohibited for export (e.g., car parts and machine components), but declared them as ordinary products — sweets, coffee, or beer. For this purpose, they used two sets of documents: fake ones — for Polish customs, and genuine ones — for submission already at the Belarusian border.
Magdalena V., an employee of the customs and tax service, played an important role in the scheme. According to investigation materials, she allowed shipments to pass without inspection in exchange for bribes. The total amount of money she received was no less than 162.5 thousand zloty (about 42.2 thousand euro). During a search, about 385 thousand zloty (about 91 thousand euro) in cash and almost 2 thousand euro were found in her possession.
A total of 6 people were detained. They were charged with participation in an organized criminal group, smuggling and circumventing sanctions, as well as corruption (for a public official).
The court in Lublin remanded the customs officer for 3 months. The other suspects were given milder preventive measures — bail, a recognizance not to leave, and police supervision.
The investigation is ongoing, and it is not ruled out that new suspects may emerge in the case.
