New Russian passenger aircraft arrived in Minsk for autopilot tests

The new-generation Russian passenger aircraft SJ-100 arrived at Minsk National Airport on September 22 for certification tests, reports the "Minsk-Novosti" agency.

The tests will be conducted by employees of the flight test and development complex of the Russian aircraft manufacturing company "Yakovlev" together with representatives of certification centers and Aviaregister.

Specialists will check the operation of the autopilot system, including the possibility of automatic approach and automatic landing in Categories II and IIIA.

During the visit of the Russian delegation, representatives of "Yakovlev" also met with the management of Minsk National Airport. They discussed long-term cooperation plans.

In organizing the tests, the cooperation between the "Yakovlev" company and Minsk National Airport takes into account the technical capabilities of the airfield and the capabilities for prompt ground handling. Minsk was chosen as one of the testing sites due to the airport's infrastructure, which is certified according to international standards.

"Yakovlev" is a Russian aircraft manufacturing company engaged in the development and production of civil aircraft.
