The tragedy occurred on August 1 near the village of Bluzhski Bor in Pukhavichy district on the Svislach river, reports the Water Rescue Society.

The 42-year-old man was in the water, which was only knee-deep.
At some point, he felt unwell and lost consciousness. Falling into the water, the man was unable to get up on his own and drowned.
According to rescuers, the current carried the body approximately 6 meters from the shore. A diver found him more than five hours after the incident at a depth of about three meters.
According to specialists, the tragedy could have been avoided if the recreation spot had been officially equipped for swimming and lifeguards were on duty there. But the nearest post was 16.5 kilometers away.
