In Pukhavichy District, a Man Shot a Person with an Air Rifle

In Pukhavichy District, a 51-year-old unemployed local resident shot a 20-year-old guy with an air rifle. This way, the man decided to "help" his neighbor, who had a conflict with the victim and had repeatedly complained about him.

The shooter was detained by security forces, and his rifle was confiscated. The young man sustained scratches. Investigators opened a criminal case against the detainee for hooliganism.

Shooting with pneumatic weapons in populated areas and public places in Belarus can be classified as hooliganism. The use of such weapons against people or to damage someone else's property can lead to liability, including criminal liability — depending on the consequences.
