Head of Indian MFA arrives in Ukraine for the first time on a separate visit
Indian Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar visited Kyiv on September 3. This is the first separate visit of the head of the Indian MFA to Ukraine in the history of bilateral relations, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported .

During the meeting, Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha informed his Indian counterpart about systematic Russian attacks on Ukraine. He specifically drew attention to strikes on civilian vessels, ports, and port infrastructure. Indian sailors were also among those affected by Russian attacks.
Sybiha emphasized that the blockade of important supply routes for Ukrainian food creates a threat of hunger and humanitarian crisis for millions of people in various countries.
A separate topic of the negotiations was the peace process and the possibility of more active participation of India in international efforts to end Russia's war against Ukraine.
Sybiha stated that Ukraine is ready to end the war and has realistic proposals for this. According to him, it is now necessary to move from war to diplomacy. He also recalled the recent statement by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who called for an end to the protracted war.
