52 Deportation Orders Issued Against Belarusians in the US for Failure to Appear in Immigration Court
Belarusians awaiting the review of their cases in immigration courts are increasingly encountering situations where they miss their court hearings and receive deportation orders.
Since the beginning of 2026, in 42 court cases, Belarusians failed to appear at hearings, resulting in deportation orders being issued against them. Including their family members, these decisions affected a total of 52 individuals, reports the volunteer initiative By_Action.
10 out of the 52 individuals had a lawyer, but they still missed the court hearing.
The initiative strongly advises checking the status of one's case in the court system daily. Currently, hearing dates, assigned judges, and other information regarding immigration cases can change almost daily.
The initiative urges checking one's case even when the application is still under review by USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services), and as it's not always possible to receive a separate notification about the start of the immigration process in court, it is important to independently check if your case has appeared in the EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review) system.
