More than 200 clients suffered from the company "Cherry Kitchens", which was advertised by propagandist Tur with his wife

The well-known furniture company "Cherry Kitchens", which had operated for 15 years, suddenly closed without fulfilling orders. Clients were left without furniture but with loans amounting to tens of thousands of rubles. The former director of the company, Yaroslav Talochka, is in custody. "Belarus 1" TV channel reported the details.

The company manufactured kitchens and other furniture, had showrooms, and a large client base. In its 15th anniversary year, it offered a 15% discount. Some buyers placed orders on credit, but on September 1, the company announced that it would not fulfill them and would not return the money.

One of the victims, Darya Kireeva, said that her family took out four loans – for her, her husband, mother, and father-in-law. In total, the furniture for the apartment cost 54 thousand rubles.

"I took out a loan for 13.5 thousand Belarusian rubles. Then we decided to ask our parents to help and also take out a loan for themselves to complete everything. Our children are going to school next year, they need at least a desk," the woman said.

According to Darya, on August 30, company representatives still delivered two painted facades to her, and already on September 1, they informed her that the orders would not be fulfilled.

Another client, Nikita Kogan, ordered furniture in April. It was supposed to be delivered by July 20, but only arrived on August 4 and was not assembled. Now the furniture lies in boxes, and he cannot invite another company because the investigation is ongoing and the damage still needs to be assessed.

Kogan claims that the owner continued to enter into new agreements, even though he was already negotiating the liquidation of the company.

"The last agreement was personally approved by Yaroslav, the owner of the company, on August 30. That is, on September 1, he announced the liquidation, but considered it normal to involve another family in this situation," the man said.

A criminal case against the former director and founder of the company was initiated on September 4. Valery Kamenev, head of the Moscow District Department of the Investigative Committee of Minsk, stated that the company continued to accept orders for several months, despite being in a very difficult financial situation.

"We believe that they knew for certain that these obligations would not be fulfilled," Kamenev said.

More than 200 statements from victims have been received by the police. Preliminarily, the damage is estimated at over 2 million rubles, but not all victims have been identified yet. The accused is in custody.

The former director Yaroslav Talochka himself, in a comment from the pre-trial detention center, explained the problems by equipment breakdowns, additional expenses, and an unsuccessful expansion of the company.

"All factors combined led to such a situation. I overestimated my own strength, got too carried away with the development of the company," he stated.

The Investigative Committee states that it is searching for the accused's property and studying the financial situation of his relatives to secure compensation for damages. Banks have already informed clients that they will not be granted loan deferrals.
