Chonhar Bridge destroyed — a key logistics route for Russian troops has sustained new damage
The Chonhar road bridge, which connects annexed Crimea with the occupied part of the Kherson region via the Chonhar Strait, has sustained new extensive damage. This is evidenced by satellite imagery, as well as comments from those who had to travel on the pontoon crossing, writes Astra.

A September video shows that the bridge is almost destroyed, and the author of the video is driving behind other cars on a temporary crossing.
In October, information emerged that at least one span of the Chonhar Bridge had collapsed — this is visible even on satellite imagery.

Dnipro Osint reported that the bridge, as a key land crossing, has been repeatedly attacked by the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
«As of September 26, at least three large holes were recorded in the deck of the bridge and the adjacent crossing. This significantly complicated traffic and led to congestion of logistics transport, including military. The photo from September 30 already shows that the bridge span has collapsed,» the report states.
In chats discussing the road to annexed Crimea, drivers claim that two spans of the bridge collapsed, so traffic was directed along a crossing with reversible movement. Another driver reported that on one of the days, everyone was redirected via an old road.
In addition to problems with the Chonhar Bridge, those wishing to enter annexed Crimea or leave the peninsula reported that there are almost no working gas stations along the road, and at those that are operational, diesel fuel costs 130-140 rubles, and gasoline — 160-200 rubles.
Moreover, the highway is under constant drone attacks targeting cargo vehicles. In a message from October 4, one of the drivers recounted that he and his passengers had to jump out of the car when mobile fire groups were shooting down UAVs. According to him, he personally saw «two trucks hit». Another driver reported seeing six burnt trucks and warned that «the situation is constantly changing».
In June, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported damage to three railway bridges in the occupied territories. Mentioned were the railway bridge over the North Crimean Canal in the Rozdolne area, the railway bridge in the area of Petershagen village (formerly Kutuzivka) in Zaporizhzhia region, and also the railway bridge over the Syvash in Chonhar. The First Separate Assault Regiment of the AFU also reported damage to a pontoon bridge in Chonhar.
