Nakoula Basseley Nakoula is charged with violation of probation terms after his release from prison in 2011 as he was sentenced for Bank fraud.
The man is said to be the author for 14-minute trailer for Innocence of Muslims, under the terms of his probation was banned from using computers or accessing the internet for five years without an officer's permission.
He has not been detained over the contents of the inflammatory video, BBC reports.
