It is alleged that a residual content of albendazole sulfone was found in the cottage cheese of these manufacturers. This is a veterinary drug against worms.
"The results were confirmed during monitoring studies of Belarusian dairy products entering the Russian market.
For all identified cases, notifications were sent to the veterinary service of Belarus regarding the adoption of necessary measures to prevent similar violations," — Rosselkhoznadzor stated.
Albendazole sulfone can cause digestive problems and allergic reactions in humans. With frequent consumption of products containing residues of the substance, there is a risk of toxic effects on the liver.
