Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson and Mick Jagger. Who can be found in the new documents from the Jeffrey Epstein case
The US Department of Justice has published the first part of documents in the Jeffrey Epstein case, the publication of which was expected after Congress passed a law requiring the entire trove of files to be published no later than December 19, writes the BBC.

Among these documents were photographs of a number of famous people, including former US President Bill Clinton, ex-Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, and musicians Mick Jagger and Michael Jackson.
Mention or depiction in these documents does not constitute proof of wrongdoing. Many of those whose names appeared in previous publications related to Epstein have denied their involvement in any crimes.
Bill Clinton in the pool and jacuzzi
Among the published images are several photographs of former US President Bill Clinton. In one picture, he is swimming in a pool; in another, he is lying in a jacuzzi, with his hands behind his head.

Clinton was photographed with Epstein several times in the 1990s and early 2000s, before the financier's first arrest. None of Epstein's victims have accused Clinton of wrongdoing, and he himself has repeatedly stated that he was unaware of Epstein's sexual crimes.
A representative for Clinton, commenting on the publication of the new photographs, emphasized that they were taken decades ago.
"They can publish as many blurry twenty-year-old pictures as they want, but it's not about Bill Clinton. It never was and never will be," stated Angel Ureña.
"There are two types of people here. The first group are those who knew nothing and stopped interacting with Epstein before his crimes became known. The second are those who continued their relationship with him afterward. We belong to the first group. No attempts by people from the second group will change this. Everyone, especially MAGA, is waiting for answers, not scapegoats," he added.

Trump's introduction to a 14-year-old girl
The published part of the files also mentions the current US President Donald Trump.
According to court documents published by the US Department of Justice, Epstein allegedly introduced Trump to a 14-year-old girl at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. During the alleged meeting in the 1990s, Epstein nudged Trump with his elbow and "playfully asked," pointing at the girl, "Pretty, isn't she?".
As claimed in a lawsuit filed in 2020 against Epstein and his assistant Ghislaine Maxwell, Trump smiled in response and nodded in agreement.
The document states that "they both chuckled," and the girl felt uncomfortable, "though she was too young to understand why." The victim claims that she was groomed and abused by Epstein for many years. She does not make accusations against Trump in the court materials.
This episode is one of the few mentions of the current president in the thousands of files published on Friday. He appears in several photographs, but his involvement is minimal.
The official account of Trump's campaign staff published photographs of Clinton on social media platform X after the documents were released. Trump's press secretary also reposted the images of Clinton, adding the caption: "Wow!"
However, the publication of the documents is not yet complete. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche stated that "several hundred thousand" pages are still being reviewed and have not yet been published.
Earlier, the US president said that he had been friends with Epstein for many years, but they fell out around 2004 — several years before the financier's first arrest. Trump consistently denies any involvement in crimes related to Epstein.
Andrew, lying on other people's laps
One of the published images shows Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor lying on the laps of five people, whose faces are obscured. Behind them stands Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's convicted accomplice.

Andrew has been under scrutiny for many years due to his past friendship with Epstein, who is absent from this photo. In late October, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was stripped of his princely title partly due to his ties with Epstein.
Andrew has repeatedly denied any involvement in crimes related to Epstein, stating that he "had not seen, witnessed, or suspected any actions that later led to his arrest."
Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Chris Tucker, and Mick Jagger
For the first time in the published materials on the financier's case, known for his connections in the world of show business and politics, such a wide circle of celebrities is presented. Some images published by the US Department of Justice feature stars such as Michael Jackson, Mick Jagger, and Diana Ross.

It is unclear where and when these photographs were taken and in what context. It is also unknown whether Epstein was personally connected to all these people or simply attended the same events.
Actor Chris Tucker appears in several pictures. In one photo, he is sitting next to Clinton at a dinner table; in another, he is standing on an airfield runway next to Ghislaine Maxwell.

In another photograph included in the documents published yesterday, Ghislaine Maxwell poses in front of No. 10 Downing Street, the official residence of the UK Prime Minister in London.
In the photograph, she is alone; there is no context explaining the purpose of her presence there or the time the picture was taken.
It is also unknown who held the position of Prime Minister at the time of the photograph and in what capacity Maxwell visited Downing Street.

Hundreds of thousands of pages still unpublished
Among the documents published on December 19, there are many materials with redacted fragments, including police reports, investigation protocols, and photographs. More than 100 pages of one document related to a grand jury investigation are completely redacted.
Authorities, in accordance with the law, had the right to edit materials to protect the identities of victims or information related to ongoing investigations, but by law, they are required to explain the reasons for such edits. This has not yet been done.
As stated by the US Department of Justice, the thousands of pages published on December 19 are only a part of the documents planned for release. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche reported that the department would publish "several hundred thousand pages" on December 19 and intends to publish "several hundred thousand more" in the coming weeks. He explained that each page is carefully reviewed so that "every victim—their name, identity, history, to the extent necessary—is fully protected," and this process takes time.
The timing for the publication of additional materials remains unclear, and lawmakers from both sides have expressed dissatisfaction regarding this. Democrats, including Congressman Ro Khanna, have threatened measures against DOJ employees, up to impeachment or possible criminal prosecution due to delays.
Khanna, together with Republican Congressman Thomas Massie, secured a vote on the law to publish Epstein's files.
"The Justice Department's release of hundreds of thousands of pages of documents does not comply with the law," Khanna wrote on social media, adding that he and Massie are considering various options for further action.
