Sharamenta-Panchak was charged with high treason and justifying Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine. The case was initiated on July 27, 2023. Under the law, he faces from 5 years to life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
In recent years, Sharamenta-Panchak participated in video projects of the Belarusian state news agency BelTA, where he disseminated anti-Western and anti-Ukrainian materials. BelTA previously presented him as an entrepreneur who lived in London for over 20 years.
According to Ukrainian investigators, Sharamenta-Panchak left Ukraine for Poland in 2022 after the start of the full-scale war, and then moved to Minsk. There, from April to August 2024, he participated in recordings for BelTA's YouTube channel, presenting himself as Volodymyr Panchak.
In February 2025, it was reported that this figure was detained in Belarus under an article on inciting hatred or for illegal use of drones. Now, however, Sharamenta-Panchak is free in Minsk and actively maintains his social media accounts on TikTok, Instagram, and Telegram, primarily in Ukrainian.
In July 2024, the Ukrainian "Myrotvorets" center included him in its database for activities aimed at undermining Ukraine's sovereignty and defense capability, discrediting security forces, hindering the legitimate activities of the Armed Forces, and destabilizing socio-political life.
