"Of course, the fact that we were taken out of Belarus is lawlessness. But I believe that we will definitely return and embrace each other on our native land," says Seviarynets.
He spent 5.5 years behind bars during his last term. In total, including previous detentions, the politician spent 11 years in prison.
"I spoke Belarusian all the time, I did not sign a petition for pardon, I did not admit guilt. However, I do not condemn those who did," says Pavel.
He also recited his poem "Children of Light".
We, Belarusians — like children,
Accustomed to not remembering evil,
Brighter than all in the world,
For we are children of light.
We love more white
From bed to table.
And what else did you want:
Belarusians — children of light.
We love clear eyes
And a white-toothed laugh,
We love linen and dairy,
We love snow in winter.
We love potatoes and porridges,
We love sugar and salt,
We love our enemies,
We love suffering and pain.
We love festivals in Budslau,
All calendar holidays,
We love when the bride
Is in white at the altar.
We love the glow of organs,
We love the flashes of chases,
And for the hero — to be faultless,
And to fly — into the fire.
Everything becomes clear simply,
Without a magnifying glass:
Our light — is the Lord.
Belarusians — children of Light.
