Leader of the European People's Party called for European troops to be sent to Ukraine
The head of the European People's Party, Manfred Weber, advocated for the deployment of European military personnel, including Bundeswehr soldiers, in Ukraine, under a common European symbol. According to him, if Europe is truly serious about a peacekeeping mission, Germany cannot stand aside, writes Bild.

"I want to see soldiers with the European flag on their uniform, who, together with our Ukrainian friends, will ensure peace," Weber stated.
The politician also criticized a scenario where peace in Ukraine would be ensured exclusively by American military personnel. In Weber's opinion, "it's not a solution if US President Donald Trump guarantees peace only with American soldiers."
Speaking about Moscow's position, Weber stated that he sees no readiness for peace from Vladimir Putin.
"Putin is leading us by the nose. He sits in the Kremlin and enjoys how the West argues and divides," the politician added.
The European People's Party, led by Manfred Weber, remains the largest and leading party.
