Trump stated that he has a lot of energy, which he attributes to his parents. "Genetics are very important," he said. "And I have very good genetics."
Trump takes more aspirin than his doctors recommend. He briefly tried wearing compression socks for ankle swelling but stopped because he didn't like them.
He sometimes ignores his doctors' advice and disdains conventional medical recommendations, relying on what he calls his "good genetics."
Aside from golf, Trump does not engage in regular physical exercise, and it is known that he consumes a lot of salty and fatty foods, such as hamburgers and french fries.
The large dose of aspirin he decided to take daily has led to him bruising easily. Doctors urged him to switch to a lower dose, but Trump refused, as he has been taking it for 25 years.
"They say aspirin is good for thinning the blood, and I don't want thick blood flowing through my heart," Trump said. "I want good, thin blood flowing through my heart. Doesn't that make sense?"
Trump denies having hearing problems. He also denies falling asleep at recent White House events and stated that he has always managed with little sleep.
Trump's skin is so delicate that Pam Bondi, who is now his Attorney General, injured his hand with a ring when she slapped his palm ("gave him five") at the Republican Party convention in Milwaukee.
An ultrasound examination of his veins showed that the president has "chronic venous insufficiency." Trump said he has started getting up from the table and walking more, which also helps with swelling.
But he is not interested in physical exercise other than golf. "I just don't like it. It's boring," Trump said. "Walking on a treadmill or running on it for hours, like some people do — that's not for me."
Trump takes medication to control his cholesterol levels and uses cream to treat his skin.
The president sleeps poorly at night and, according to his own words, often texts and calls aides at 2 AM or later.
Sleep is a particular problem aboard Air Force One, where Trump keeps his advisors awake. Senior staff take turns sitting with him during long flights. The president is known to mock aides who fall asleep.
