Trump watched Maduro's capture live. «The USA will decide who will govern Venezuela next.»
Donald Trump commented on the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife in an interview with Fox News.

He said that Maduro was detained at his home before he could descend into a specially protected room. Trump himself watched the capture operation live on screen. «I literally watched it like a TV show. It was impressive — the level of professionalism and quality of leadership.»
Several Americans were injured. Maduro and his wife were taken from Venezuela by helicopter and landed on a ship that will take them to New York.

The operation was supposed to take place four days ago, but the weather was not ideal.
«We will be actively involved in deciding who will run the country. We cannot risk letting someone else run and simply seize what he left behind,» Trump said.
«We want to bring freedom to the people. I believe the people of Venezuela are very, very happy. They were ruled by a dictatorship — or even worse.»
Trump also spoke about Mexico.
«[Mexican President] Claudia Sheinbaum is a good woman, but Mexico is run by cartels. She does not rule Mexico — Mexico is ruled by cartels. Something needs to be done with Mexico.»
