Young priest Belarusianized the parish in the homeland of Francišak Bahuševič
A month after Father Artur Liašnieŭski became the new rector of the Catholic parish in Župrany, Ašmiany district, one can already speak of the first fruits of his activity. One of the parishioners noted that it's no wonder that a portrait of Francišak Bahuševič is embedded in the wall of this church, writes Katolik.life.

Previously, believers from Smarhoń, where the priest had served before, addressed an open letter expressing their concern that the young, energetic priest was sent to serve from the city to a village where there are almost no children or young people.
It turned out this is not the case — in photos from Župrany, one can see both children and young people. Under the new rector, an Instagram public page for the parish appeared, thanks to which one can follow the priest's activities: he uploads videos of masses, educational, and funny clips.
Another innovation came as a surprise to parishioners. One of the believers spoke about it on Threads.
«The priest conducts services in Belarusian. I'm not sure if there has been a Belarusian-speaking rector in the 150-year history of this sanctuary. Certainly not in my memory,» — wrote the social media user.
He added:
«The mass script is displayed in Belarusian on the TV. For local believers, this is unusual; the Polish mass rolls off the tongue, but the Belarusian one sounds unusually alien in this environment. But I liked it. The priest is sincere, open, and smiles.»

The author noted that a portrait of Francišak Bahuševič is embedded in the wall of this church, who «commanded us not to abandon our Belarusian language, so that we would not die — it's wonderful that he will hear it regularly now.»
