«Let's smoke». Mentusava replicated the flash mob of Iranian women
Feminist and host of «Obychnoye Utro» (Ordinary Morning), Maryna Mentusava, joined the famous flash mob of protest participants in Iran.
Mentusava posted photos on Instagram in which she lights a cigarette with a burning image of Alyaksandr Lukashenka.
«Smoking kills. Dictators too. Happy «Year of the Belarusian Woman», dears, let's smoke!» — Mentusava wrote.
This flash mob became popular among Iranian women who light cigarettes with burning images of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

This gesture combines several prohibited actions at once: burning Khamenei's portrait, which is considered a crime in Iran; smoking in public places, which is condemned for women. In addition, the flash mob participants are without hijabs.
This is a continuation of the protests that began after the death of Mahsa Amini in 2022 — the girl was arrested for incorrect wearing of a hijab and died in a detention center.
