Video of a New Year's disco from a village club in the Gomel region blew up TikTok. What's unusual about it?
A village club employee published a series of videos from a New Year's disco, and one clip went viral — over 1.6 million views and thousands of comments, writes «Flagshtok». However, later, perhaps the author herself got scared of such popularity, because now the video has somehow become unavailable.

The footage shows middle-aged people dancing in a small, long-unrenovated hall of a rural House of Culture around a real Christmas tree to a 1990s-style song.
Since the tracks were Russian-language and the signs in the hall were in Russian, many commentators thought the video was shot in the Russian hinterlands. However, it turned out that the disco took place in the village of Storozhovka, Zhitkovichi district.
Many users recalled their youth and smiled, remembering the warm atmosphere, but many noticed that the dancers were wearing jackets and wondered why there was no heating in the club.
Some noted the «deficiency» and the appearance of the participants:
«I live in a village, but everything here is beautifully dressed, warm, cozy! But here…»;
«It's 2026, and we're living worse than in the 90s».
By the way, other videos from this account's author also show certain features of the cultural life of the Belarusian hinterlands. For example, for the anniversary of the October Revolution, club employees lined up in red headscarves under the slogan «Glory to October!»
