Paratrooper, recognized as the best special forces platoon commander, sentenced in a political criminal case

In Brest, a verdict was handed down to 29-year-old Maksim Dudarga. Not long ago, he was the elite of the army and won paratrooper competitions, but now he is behind bars for politics.

Maksim Dudarga is 29 years old. The guy is from Luninets. He dedicated his entire adult life to sports and military service. Back in 2015, Maksim ran marathons and half-marathons as part of the "Victoria" club.

Later, he served in the 38th Separate Air Assault Brigade in Brest. In February 2020, state media wrote about him as an exemplary officer: "Guards Senior Lieutenant Dudarga became the best commander of a paratrooper platoon of special operations forces based on the results of field training competitions."

It seems that he rose to the rank of captain — at least that's how he was later referred to in notebooks, "Captain Dudarga."

Maksim was involved in cycling, participated in cycling races of the "VelaBrest" club and even worked part-time as a driver, transporting passengers on the route Minsk — Brest — Luninets.

It is unclear whether Dudarga was still serving in the special forces or had already resigned.

The Brest Regional Court sentenced him under parts 1 and 2 of Article 361-4 of the Criminal Code — "facilitating extremist activities." Usually, cases under this article are currently tried in connection with the Hayun case.

Dudarga's exact sentence is unknown, but it is either "khimiya" (restricted freedom with compulsory labor) with assignment or a penal colony.

Дударга, беларусам можа дапамоч толькi зброя i ўзброенае рашэнне лукашысскага пытання, гэта ўжо даўно ясна. А не мiрныя хаджэннi, атрымлiваннi дубiнкамi i сядзеннi за кратах
