Latvian Authorities Forgot to Purchase Ammunition for Anti-Drone Systems

Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs stated that the necessary ammunition had not been purchased for the anti-drone systems already acquired by the country.

“The equipment was purchased, but they forgot to buy ammunition,” he said in a LETA podcast, writes Delfi.

Kulbergs did not specify which systems he was referring to or which department was responsible for the purchase. According to him, details related to the country's defense capabilities cannot be disclosed yet. The Prime Minister added that Latvia calls itself a "great power in the drone sector," although "there is no real substance behind this."

Currently, Latvia is creating a unified system that should synchronize the actions of the border guard and the Ministry of Defense. In its development, the authorities are using Ukraine's experience to control airspace and neutralize drones using anti-drone measures, rather than expensive missiles.
