New Vice-Rector for Security Lasted Only Nine Months at Grodno State University

As Nasha Niva learned, Ihar Tsitsyankou has not been working at Grodno State University since August 10. He lasted less than a year in the position of Vice-Rector for Security and Personnel.
"The dismissal came as a surprise to him," comment informed sources.
The Vice-Rector for Security is an innovation of Lukashenka's regime, conceived after 2020. Security officials — sometimes former ones — who have no relation to education or science, get positions in university management to control personnel.
Similarly, Tsitsyankou — there is not a single scientific work of the "vice-rector" in the National Library catalog.
Before taking up the high position, Tsitsyankou was responsible for military-patriotic education of students at the humanities college attached to the university.
His duties at the university are temporarily performed by Vice-Rector for Ideological Work Vasil Syanko. Tsitsyankou himself was transferred to another job according to his profile. Where exactly is not yet known.
